Hey Lime, you asked about what people use? I use simply and android phone and stylus, sometimes I use a little plastic ruler and my laptop to look at reference photos. I have an old tablet around somewhere that I wanna try with a bigger screen. The small 5.5 inch screen is pretty painstaking and can take hours to finish one with lots of colours and details. The car one I did probably took over 12 hours for example so, yeah, hope that helps.
